Note to self: replace lined paper texture on this page with my own photo! :-3 (and replace all other images obv LOL)

Drawing and writing are my two biggest hobbies, and have been my entire life! Where I would be without my notebooks and markers, I cannot even conceptualize... I've crafted many characters & narratives in this time, and a decent portion of them have stuck with me over the years (though they've morphed a lot to suit my ever changing tastes).
This page is a non-exhaustive list of both my ongoing story projects as well as the ones I'd love to eventually get around to when/if my current ones ever get done! I dream up little guys and worlds for them to inhabit faster than my pen can keep up... blessing or curse, you decide!

scales and all (webcomic)
status: scripting and sketching! (for like the fourth time...)
lisa frank leopard sticker Scales and All follows two young adults, Joshua Grace Lake and Abraham Rockwell, each trying to find their place in a world they feel alien in. The two's stories are seperated by time -- Abraham's takes place 20 years before Grace's -- but woven together with the same threads, which are gradually unraveled over the course of the comic.
SAA is a deeply, deeply personal and important story to me, and over the last few years it's been my biggest outlet for emotions and experiences I didn't know how to process otherwise. It's about a lot of things: how a religious upbringing and repression of desires can shape a person, peer pressure in many forms, coping with loneliness, the ocean as symbolism of the unknowable vastness of one's own identity, and remaining hopeful in the face of all that uncertainty.
All the characters within it are based on either facets of myself or on people I know in real life, and they feel just as real. Two of its main characters, Dan and Grace, both came from a dream of mine in 2021 and they especially are more like my closest friends than they are characters in a book.

SAA is currently on its... 8th? 10th?? rewrite; I've honestly lost count, its taken SO many forms over just a few years. My MC Grace has been a cryptozoologist on the run from the government, a medieval guard, an 80's new wave hipster, and now a transgender Washingtonian... I won't be doing any more major overhauls at this point now, or at least I'd like to think so!
Bringing this story to life has been a long and difficult journey, and I know in many aspects it's still only just begun. But these last few years have shown me that it's worth it to me, and I'll continue down this road for as long as it takes!

lisa frank leopard sticker SM could better be described as a dozen+ stories in a trench coat -- both in how developed its world and characters are, and in that it's esentially comprised of several projects of mine from over the years collaged into one big narrative.
The main plot centers around a trio of siblings (Iggy, Otto and Jacques) who are part of the first generation in Verdever fully removed from humans. The three of them go on a quest

jester's crown (video game)
status: pipe dream
lisa frank leopard sticker Jester's Crown is a video game I'd love to make in RPG Maker someday. You'd play as Peanuts, a royal court jester in a secret relationship with their king. When the king is mysteriously killed, Peanuts, through their grief, begins to ponder the life decisions that lead them to where they are now, and if it was all worth it.
The plot itself as it lives in my head now is clear and simple with a few distinct settings over the course of it, and I think it'd be very well-suited to a game format where you get to explore the world and engage with the characters around you whilst experiencing Peanuts' story and emotions firsthand. Plus, I think it would be fun to try my hand at spritemaking on a larger scale!
Sadly I have a lot of other onging projects to attent to already, and learning a whole game design software (even a very simple one like RM) and doing all the assets and such would take a lot of energy that I can't spare right now. Oh, well... wait up for me, Peanuts! I'll get to you someday I hope!

house of wolves (undecided medium)
status: concepting and plotting
lisa frank leopard sticker House of Wolves (temp name) is set in California in the early 2000's and follows Kit, an emotionally immature teenage boy with anger issues... who's just been bitten by a werewolf.
Over the course of the story he struggles with himself as his angry outbursts become more unavoidable and more dangerous, and he's finally forced to confront both the root cause of them and how they've hurt his loved ones in the past. He's also in a will-they-won't-they (b)romance with not only his lifelong best friend Larry, but also the schmoozy werewolf who (accidentally) turned him in the first place. It's wild!
House of Wolves has been a nice side project for me to tinker with over the years, with a lot of my favorite themes and tropes and a nostalgic setting that'll be very fun to come up with little scenarios within. It's one of my less weighty and more self-indulgent stories, and it's a blast! I have no idea if I'll ever end up telling it in a concrete fashion, the characters might just stay as toys for me to play with in various ways forever... who knows!
