★ COMIC COLLECTION! ★
I've been reading webcomics online since I could get ahold of a computer, and I've come across some absolutely lifechanging ones in that time. Here I am working to compile a list of my current favorites!

"I'm scared. But I'm ready to live again. I want to."
Sun Sprain is an utterly beautiful and touching story that came into my life at exactly the time I needed it most.
Set in the PNW with two transmasculine furry protagonists, I was immediately drawn in by a relatablity I rarely find in stories. The struggles both Beat and Brad face throughout the story, though not directly relatable to me, resonated deeply with me; with the way this story is written, it seems inpossible to not be drawn in and experience it fully, both emotionally and sensorily.
It also changed my perspective in multiple ways on what could be done within the medium of webcomics! I feel like it would have taken me much longer to gain the confidence to make Scales and All if not for the inspiration Sun Sprain sparked in me.
Quite literally no other art piece has sung to my personal experince the way Sun Sprain has, I’m ever so grateful to have been in the right place at the right time to get to read it as it was initially being posted.
This comic is so close to my heart and I have a feeling it will in some way stay a part of me forever :-] ♡
"That is the state of things"
I find it hard to even write a blurb for Reviviscence... I have such a strong love for this comic, it's difficult to condense my feelings into an elegant little review.
I will say, it’s been absolutely amazing to be along for the ride since before the comic started -- going from knowing these characters and wondering about their story to finding out that they’d be featuring in a comic and waiting eagerly to hear updates to being there for the first update & everything since then… what a wonderful and exciting experience!!
The world of Reviviscence is endlessly intriuging to me, how wide it spans with its multitude of characters and their intricately thought-out lives, the passion poured into them that shines out through like the most gorgeous stained glass window...
The comic is fantastically written, with dialogue filled with wit & personality and a storyline that flows smoothly and clearly while also making me feel like I’m rafting on whitewater and holding on for dear life with all the nail-biting twists and turns!
And the VISUALS of course are just stunning. Reviviscence has some of the most clever usage of panel composition and speech bubbling that I’ve EVER seen, every single page has me jaw-dropped at how cleverly arranged it all is. The emotions of the characters and breadth of the scenery bleeds through every panel (sometimes literally!) in such an awesome way. I absolutely cannot get enough of Reviviscence!!
☆ DOGBODY
"I am of use to them. I think that is all I am."
DOGBODY was one of my few purchases from Shortbox Comics Fair in 2024; I didn't have the budget for many comics, but I'd been following along with the teasers for it and knew if I could only get one, DOGBODY would be it.
I was hooked by the visuals before reading, and the full comic still blew me away with its captivating colors and flowing shapes.
The way the dialogue itself is uniquely a part of the comic's visual language is delicious, and the usage of words throughout feels extremely intentional in a wonderfully tangible way. I've never read a comic that so starkly and viscerally puts emphasis on worldess panels & pages in quite the same way this one does... it's an absolute treasure.
"Do you know this one girl with hair like this?"
I got into Scott Pilgrim a bit late, I suppose — though I’d been somewhat interested in reading it for a few years, it was only after the release of SPTO did I really “catch the bug” and dive all the way into it. And man, reading the comics is what really made me understand the hype!
It’s so clear to me the self-indulgence that went into creating it, and I mean that in the best possible way. Obviously I’m by far not the first or smartest person to talk about the unique way it went about combining genres and using its medium to emulate others in a super engaging way, but I’ll still say I absolutely love it :-]
The “time-capsule-ness” of how packed it is with pop culture references is really fun, and comforting in a way.
I also like how there’s so much going on that it’s inevitable at least some of it could be relatable to any reader; I definetly find some things oddly and specifically relatable hahah… who hasn’t had a mysterious & cute girl appeared in their dreams to use their brain as a convenient passageway before, amiright boys?
Anyways. I love this quirky series, and I’m extremely glad there are multiple versions of this story — comic, movie, show, game — because it’s such a blast to engage with!
Here are more comics that I enjoy a lot, but don't feel like I have as much to say about them as the ones above.
Keep an eye on this page, I often add more & some from this section might move up if I feel more eloquent later!
